Budget speech helps Australians catch up on much-needed sleep
Tired Australians have praised the Treasurer’s speech for helping them catch up on their sleep.

Tired Australians nationwide have praised Treasurer Jim Chalmers whose 2025 budget speech helped them catch up on some much-needed sleep.
The speech, which contained many sleep-inducing financial phrases, is estimated to have caused millions of Aussies, exhausted from overwork or just trying to survive, to either pass out on their sofa or simply go to bed.
Those who managed to stay awake through the speech that basically said nothing were soon sent napping by the never-ending media analysis that followed, which also said nothing.
“I often have trouble nodding off,” said 43-year-old sheet metal worker Ron Comets, “But that speech had me snoring in no time.”
“You can always rely on people talking about finances to send me off,” said mum of 3, Valerie Endors, 36.
“I’m still asleep,” said another person who was still asleep.
Snore.
