The parents of a man recently convicted of murdering his best friend with an axe now regret saying, “at least he’s not an axe murderer”.
Jenny and Daryll Teasel whose son Jeremy was always a bit of a handful would often say “at least he’s not an axe murderer” to their friends, whenever he caused trouble, unaware that Jeremy would one day actually murderer someone with an axe.
“It was just a bit of a joke”, said Mr Teasel . “We never thought he’d actually become an axe murderer.”
We also use to say, “he’s no rocket scientist, which also turned out to be true”, said Mrs Teasel.
